About Me & Ipswich

I am pleased to be the Family First candidate for Ipswich. As a fourth generation resident of Ipswich I know the area intimately and understand the needs for its continued progress. I have qualifications in IT as a Network Engineer and Website Designer with experience in the offices of both retailing and manufacturing companies, and have also worked with my church in Australia and the Philippines. I have been married for five years and have three daughters.

Whilst still recovering from the disastrous floods of 2011, Ipswich has established a reputation as a progressive city, and to maintain this momentum there needs to be a strong sense of community built on families. It is therefore vital that government policies acknowledge family values and implement policies that support them in all areas such as quality education and health care, affordable transport and encouragement of training and employment opportunities.

Governments need to be held to account for their actions and Queensland’s lack of  any Upper House of Review leads to policies aimed at short term advantage for the party in power. Family First supports the reintroduction of an Upper House (but sees no need for increasing the number of politicians to achieve this). Your first preference for me will emphasise the need for this accountability and make all parties more aware of the need for sound values leading to the kind of policies put forward by Family First.
