LNP Misleads the Public

Below is a release from Sally Vincent the State Chairperson for Family First.
Remember: All votes are equal, and all votes are equally as powerful.
Today's Courier-Mail records that Campbell Newman said a vote for a minor party would not change government. (see quote from the paper below in blue)
Mr Newman declined to comment directly about Mr Irwin's possible candidacy but said a vote for a minor party would not change government.
"Queenslanders are saying that we need change,'' he said. "The only way that this can happen is to vote for the LNP.''
As a minor party, we recognize this as a blatant attempt to mislead the public about the system of preferential voting that we have in Queensland.
Every election, we are faced with members of the public not understanding that a vote for a minor party is not a wasted vote.  If the minor party candidate is not elected, the full value of that vote is passed to the candidate who has been given 2nd preference by that voter and so on, all the way through the candidates that have been numbered.
Please, if you care about family values, and are concerned (as you should be) that these values will not always be supported by a major party, vote for Family First number 1, and then the minor party or major party of your choice.  If you place the LNP before the ALP, then if your first preference doesn't succeed in gaining the seat, you will have had just as much influence changing the government as anyone else who voted for the LNP as number 1 !!!
Please do your best to understand this concept and ENSURE YOUR FRIENDS ARE AWARE of this important process of our electoral system.
There are no guarantees that the LNP will not end up supporting anti-family policies.  If you give Family First your first vote, the LNP will be more likely to understand the importance you place on these values!
